Andrew Lane Wines is also gaining a national reputation for leading the way in bringing the tradition of beaujolais
nouveau-inspired wines-and harvest parties-to the California wine country. The family has
recently begun making a small production of “nouveau” gamay noir ($15), which they release
with much fanfare and merrymaking during the traditional third week of November.
The best way to learn more about the history of gamay in the Napa Valley-and about the other
wines they make at Andrew Lane Wines-is make an appointment for one of their winemaker tours.
There are local English muffins and homemade hillside jam, Sandee Dickson's locally famous Southwestern egg caserole, followed by a private tasting of the family’s wines in this unique take on the breakfast of champions.
